My Daily Vitamin and Supplements Routine

I get this all the time — Do you take supplements and which do you take?? 

Daily Amazing Grass TrioOver the years I have taken a variety of vitamins and supplements.  I don’t know about you guys, but I have asked myself ARE ALL THESE BIG ASS PILLS EVEN DOING ANYTHING??? Well I cannot say 100% if they ARE, but I can say that my body is thriving so yeah, they must be doing something. In the last decade I can count on one hand how many colds I have had. Ehhhhhh, okay so there might be something to the whole take your vitamins thing.

To be fair, the person who takes supplements is probably also paying attention to their diet and more likely to exercise and lead an active lifestyle.  Collectively supplements, for me, are an essential component of my lifestyle. They prop up what is lacking in my diet. Other supplements work in my body to heal and restore day-to-day environmental stressors.  Some even safeguard my body from common ailments and long term diseases. For these reasons I actually look forward to taking my supplements. I don’t look forward to actually swallowing them, but yeah I like knowing that these little pills (and my wheat grass powder) are naturally healing my body.  SUPER COOL!!

1. Amazing Grass Amazing Trio: Wheat Grass, Barley Grass, and Alfafa

What is wheat grass? Wheat grass is the young grass of a wheat plant.  

Dosage: 1 scoop per day in warm water

I’ve been drinking wheat grass for years and more recently switched to a blend with wheat grass, barley grass and alfafa. 

Benefits of wheat grass:

  • Contains high levels of chlorophyll aka “light energy” which increases oxygen levels in the blood.
  • Effective healer. Contains Antioxidants such as vitamin A, C, E, K, and B6. As the body carries out natural processes, it produces toxic byproducts. If the toxins remain in the body, oxidized stress can result. Antioxidants remove toxins from the body.
  • Anti Inflammatory.  Inflammation occurs when the immune system reacts to an unwanted substance.  The antioxidants found in wheat grass help reduce inflammation.
  • Wheat grass has a high fiber content, and fiber helps to keep the gut healthy.
  • Boosts your metabolism and energy.
  • Manages blood sugar.
2. Gaia Herbs Turmeric Supreme

What is turmeric? A root plant; relative of ginger.

Dosage: 2 capsules per day
