You darlings have been asking me to put together a lash tutorial and it’s finally here!

Eye Lash Tutorial

Here’s what you’ll need to apply Ardell Individual Lashes:
  • Magnifying Mirror
  • Ardell Individual Lashes: Medium Flare
  • Ardell Individual Lashes: Singles Short
  • Ardell Singles Lashes: Singles Medium
  • Duo Individual Lash Adhesive Clear
  • Fine Tweezers
  • Fine Scissors
  • Foil for Adhesive

I taught myself how to do my own eye lash extensions before my wedding about 6 years ago. I wanted to do something special for my wedding day in case I couldn’t find a makeup artist. Since then I’ve pretty much been hooked. It only takes me about 15 minutes to apply and if I do say so myself, my lashes look super natural. In fact, my lashes make all the difference for any effortless makeup look. See my before and after results below…

This lash tutorial has been by far the most highly requested tutorial but truth be told I’ve been reluctant to share. Eye lash extensions do come with some potential negative side effects.

Potential Side Effects of Lash Extensions

As beautiful as they are, eye lash extensions can cause your real eye lashes to fall out. If you decide to apply eye lash extensions, be sure not to wear them too often or for prolonged periods. Also, some people are allergic to the eye lash glue so be sure to test on a small area before fully applying. In fact, my bff is super allergic to eye lash glue and even after removing the eye lashes as soon as the first allergic symptoms appeared, it took weeks for the itchiness and eye swelling to go away. Be sure to take proper caution and if you have sensitive eyes don’t bother trying or consult your eye doctor for recommendations.

Now I know I’m sending mixed signals here. While I love my eye lash extensions and have never personally experienced any problems, I want to make sure you are aware of the potential side effects that I’ve seen or heard that others experience.

With that said, I’d love to hear if you give this lash tutorial a try. Please show some love in the comments below!

    Hi Tennille,

Where do you get the foil?

  2. Barbara A Taylor says:

I was trying to listen but wanted to make sure, do you put the lashes on the waterline ? What are you steps to clean them? Do you use makeup remover to remove the light mascara applied? Wash face normally?

    • Tennille says:

Hi Barbara! Yes, I apply them under my waterline. I use my normal makeup remover and it removes the makeup while leaving the lashes in tact. And yes, I wash my face normally with no issues.

can you do a nighttime/morning face routine with your lashes. How do you wash your face with your lashes?

  6. Jeanne Griffin says:

    Thank you!!!!
Do you do this every week?

  7. Tina says:

So, 3 different style of individuals!? Wow, when I was in my 20’s in the early 90’s, they only had one style of individual lashes. This is great..thanks for this tutorial.

I will pick up the lashes and other supplies this weekend and give it a whirl, because I want the wispy youthful look, instead of the dark eyes primer and mascara can give you and I hate those horrid spider lashes..????

Lastly, I see that you answered questions about removing eye makeup in other comments and noted in the video how long the lashes stay on.

    Thanks again for this video..????
