Happy Mother’s Day!! The woman I am today is because I am and will forever be May and Xia’s Mom. I used to LOVE being called “May’s Mom” and “Xia’s Mom.” Of course with the girls now being adults those days have long gone. I suppose on some level I will always lovingly carry those titles.
Nowadays the girls and their friends simply call me TTL…which is super cool!! Over the years the bond that I share with May and Xia has blossomed into friendship, like I gave birth to my best friends!!
Not sure if you darlings watched the last IGTV TeaTime episode sharing my parenting story, but during that chat I shared that being a teenage Mom shaped me into the woman I was to become. Being a parent your entire adult life can do that.

At 18 years old I knew that my life was no longer mine, I happily surrendered myself to the precious life I gave birth to. I wanted to teach May (now 23) how to love, how to receive love, language, values, morals, and respect. I wanted her to see me as her role model, as her source for comfort, support, and guidance in life. It was very important that I represent womanhood from top to bottom. Over the years I replicated that philosophy to raise my second daughter Xia turning 18 next week. If there’s one thing I know for sure, I was born to be their MAMA!!
As a trio, the girls and I share a magical bond that I often joke about, saying that the three of us share a brain!! We cheer each other on, we comfort each other in all things, and most importantly we trust & respect each other. There is truly nothing that each of us would not do for each other.
They LOVE teasing Mommy because I’m the sensitive one. Xia is the silly one, sometimes a wee bit like I Love Lucy if you feel me, while May is the levelheaded plain spoken one. Combined we are always having a good time and one of us usually has the right answer to solve a problem. With Xia graduating high school, I feel only a massive amount of pride. My daughters are the most incredible young ladies…and ya know what?? A teenage Mom from South Central did that!!
On that note I’d like to dedicate this blog to all the women out there raising children selflessly and lovingly. I would also like to send a special hug to all the teenage and young mother’s out there. You too can and will be AMAZING mamas!! Don’t let anyone tell you differently. Let the gorgeous young people you raise show them that you are more than capable!!
Happy Mother’s Day! Love you Darlings!
This was a beautiful message. It makes me want to work harder to have a trusting bond with my children. My situation is a little different because I have a blended family with the loss of a biological parent but this message still makes me want to become better so that my children can ultimately be happy and productive.
Thanks darling! Blended family situations can often present unique challenges but your love and desire to be better is a great foundation. Sending lots of love to you and your family. ????????
love it!
Bellas!
Wonderful story very similar to mine. I too became a mother at the young age of 18. I was told I would amount to nothing or become a welfare queen. My beautiful child and those cold words became my driving force. I wanted to ensure that I could offer him a quality life.
It was not easy but it made me strong
I have a successful professional career and a good life because of him. Unfortunately he has gone on to Glory, but he lives in me. He is my Angel.
Thanks for inspiring women with your beautiful story and your wonderful live style
And your babies are as gorgeous as you
Wow, thank you so much for sharing your story with me. There is nothing more powerful than a mother’s motivation. I’m so sorry to hear about your son’s passing. That’s an unimaginable pain that no mother should ever have to experience. I know he is with you always watching over you. Sending you lots of love. ❤❤❤
This was such an amazing blog. As a young woman and mother of two things like this is so important for me, to see other moms doing their thing.✨
I couldn’t agree more. As a community it’s so important to lift each other up, inspire, and motivate each other. xx Tennille
